Doily VI, Round VI

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I finished Round VI (from Tatted Treasures by Jan Stawasz) last night, and I love the way this doily is looking! I'm so happy with Latte Foam (size 20 Lizbeth #168) for this project. It may be difficult to see in the picture, but the thread looks tea-dyed, something I have never tried and never plan on trying. Why should I when this beautiful thread is available?

Margaret asked for a close-up of Grandfather Clock, so...

front,

back,

one side,

and the other. Carol aka Battatter has told me I can do this. I'm a bit skeptical. I don't think I have the imagination for it, but some day I'll probably get the urge to try, then look out!

  3. Magnificent! Both the doily and the tatted clock, which recalls fond memories of Captain Kangaroo each time I look upon it.

  4. Your doily from Jan's book is stunning. Did you tat it using Jan's way of tatting or the regular conventional way? Love that Grandfather Clock. You are one lucky gal!

So what is your next project?

  6. beautiful doily.
and the clock is unique. I remember Grandfather Clock, Captain Kangaroo, Mr Green Jeans, Mr Moose with the dropping ping pong balls, and all the other characters. That was a good show for kids.

  10. The doily looks great, and enlarging it really shows the 'tea-dyed' effect of the thread! Lovely work, as usual! (Still don't know where you find the time!)

  13. "You can do eet!" (no really!)
The clock is basic rings, chains, and block tatting at the bottom... stiffened onto a form I made from cardboard.

And, GREAT job on the doily! It looks terrific. Though I don't normally make doilies myself, I may have to get some of that 'tea dyed' thread.. and just the right pattern.
