WIP

We all have a few, don't we? This is Mom's Pink Doily by Nancy Tracy that I started a few years ago for daughter Joanne. Somehow, when I get requests for things, it takes me longer to complete them. If my memory serves me correctly, I started this about three years ago. I know I've pulled it out at least twice in the past two years. I think it's time to finish this one!

I only managed to tat three medallions this weekend, but I did make progress! I'm using Lizbeth size 20, #138, Leafy Greens.

  1. Ooh, that's pretty. How big will it be?

  2. This doily is an impressive size for 'only' six rounds! However, it's a lot of tatting and a lot of picots! When I checked it out on Nancy's site, I couldn't even see the medallions at first, and realized there are 16 of them! However, I know you're not intimidated by big projects, and I know you'll finish the doily even if it takes awhile.

I'm always amazed when tatters actively seek out taking orders for their items. As soon as I 'have to' make something, I immediately slow down and tend to lose enthusiasm. So it is comforting to know I'm not alone in feeling that way!

  3. It's going to look lovely when finished, yes I agree I have a few bits that need finishing, life just gets in the way or other patterns cross over and cry to be done.

  5. I like the chains you used between the rings on that last round, rather than leaving a space. Looks neater to me.

  6. I think this is one of my WIPs too! If I am thinking of the right pattern, mine became a WIP since the thread I used likes to break and the shuttles' tips don't come together perfectly...

I took my 'unfinished from before Colin got sick' piece to a demonstration yesterday, might even be time to get it out again...btw, are you still doing the tatting at school, I found a couple of stumpies I was going to send to you...
